Students develop their skills before taking on work placements internally. Placements may be in the B&B onsite, Ty Collen (Hazel’s House), managing bookings, preparing rooms or cooking breakfasts. Or in the well-stocked shop, serving customers, stacking shelves and delivering orders to the residential houses. On the farm, students look after the animals and grow produce for the kitchens and shop. A site so large also needs maintenance so students can work as part of the estate team, looking after the land, chopping logs ...

Principal
Since 2011, David Sibbons. Previously a senior training and development manager in the MoD and other charities. David was an education consultant for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust for several years before joining Coleg Elidyr. A man on a mission, Sibbons has a 10 year master plan of new building developments and to date has built two new residential houses and a gym. Planning permission for the rest is in place and with the full support of parents and the PTA, the college is swiftly transforming from rustic to state-of-the-art.
