Since 2018, Amanda Ilhan. Originally from Nottingham, degree in education from UWE Bristol. Began her teaching career in state primaries before moving to Manchester, studying for a master's in education and becoming deputy head in leafy Cheshire at the age of 28. This was followed by a secondment to support a failing school in inner-city Manchester and then a move overseas as deputy director at the British International School in Istanbul. From there she worked in school improvement and accrediting international schools before taking up her current post at AKS.
