What says..

‘First and foremost I look at the parents,’ says the head. Yikes. No need to brush up on algebra though – she means she wants to be sure that they are buying into the school’s ethos, which is not of the all-stations-to-Oxbridge variety. Parents are overjoyed by the fact there is no homework until year 7. Up until then prep is timetabled in a daytime session. ‘This is where Belmont differs from most prep schools,’ a parent told us. ‘They...

What the school says...

The pupils and adults at Belmont live and breathe 'Achievement through Happiness'. The school offers outstanding Early Years provision, a vibrant and excellent Prep School for Years 2 to 6 and an inspirational Senior School for Years 7 and above.

Belmont has increased its age range to 16+ in order to accommodate the demand for places whilst maintaining small class sizes. The first cohort of Year 9 pupils started in September 2020.

Belmont is an exciting place to be. We enjoy excellent facilities on a beautiful 65 acre site in the Surrey Hills yet are easily accessible from London, Horsham, Guildford, Dorking and the south coast and we run minibus services to ease the school run. We offer day, flexi, and weekly boarding with a shuttle service to and from Putney on Monday mornings and Friday evenings.
Don't take our word for it - come and experience Belmont for yourself. It is an education that most children would only dream about!

On our tour we came across a boy with a bloodied knee being helped in by his friends. ‘Oh my darling boy,’ she exclaimed. ‘Let’s get that knee up. Matron is coming with her blue light on.’

Described by parents as ‘very hands-on and responsive’ and ‘a strong but caring leader’. Much praised for pastoral care. ‘She has even offered support to our...

Special Education Needs

We are happy to assess all children to see if we can help. However, if a child needs more support that two learning support sessions per week, we are probably not the right place. Laptops can be used in the classroom and there is no need to follow a modern language from year 7 onwards. Provision for gifted and talented pupils is top notch with creative enrichment opportunities.
