Since 2014, Carol Chandler-Thompson BA (in history) and PGCE, both from Exeter (early 40s), formerly head of the Girls’ School, North London Collegiate, Jeju, in the Republic of Korea. Prior to setting up NLCS in South Korea, she spent seven years as head of history and politics at NLCS. Before that, teacher of history and head of PSHE at Haberdashers' Aske’s School for Girls, Elstree.

The move to Korea enabled her to continue to be part of NLCS with the remit of setting up a school from scratch. She was drawn to the GDST for its ‘girls first’ philosophy but also the sense of community where ‘older girls don’t feel too superior to talk to the younger ones’.
