What says..

Parents we spoke to are happy with the academic offer, particularly the small classes, work ethic and the way in which good results are achieved through encouraging confidence and not through pushiness. ‘I’m a wiggly kind of learner,’ one girl told us – and she’s allowed to be. What the school says...

Clifton High is a mid-sized, all-through school educating boys and girls from 3 - 18. Our approach is unique, on transition to senior school girls and boys are taught separately in single-sex groups for core subjects, because that is how they have the best opportunity to learn. At the same time, our boys and girls benefit from having personal interaction on a day to day basis which is crucial for their social and personal development. Our philosophy at Clifton High is simple, provide a secure and purposeful environment, deliver first class teaching that inspires and challenge and celebrate each child for who they are and what they do. We aim to provide an environment where pupils can grow and develop into happy and confident young people, where individual talents are recognised and nurtured. It is also our belief that with the privilege of an excellent education comes responsibility and pupils are encouraged to respect those less fortunate than themselves and to strive to make a difference. Whilst we do not offer specialist SEN classes, our recent ISI Inspection highlighted as a strength the help we give to the children with identified minor learning difficulties, who make excellent progress. ...Read more

The junior school has been headed by Alice Taylor BSc PGCE since 2021, though she has been at the school for the best part of ten years. Born, raised and educated in Wales, with both degrees from Cardiff, Mrs Taylor started her career in the state sector (not shying away from rougher schools either) but the opportunity to become head of year at the British School of Paris proved irresistible until the pull of home finally prevailed. Stylish (those leopardskin boots did not go unnoticed), warm and approachable, Mrs Taylor is proud of uniting the infant and junior sections of the junior school and of raising pupil...
