What the school says...

Deri View is at the heart of the community. The happiness, achievement and wellbeing of everyone is central to the ethos of our school.
We aspire to build an active learning community through an innovative, creative curriculum in an environment of mutual respect where all potential is nurtured and high standards are achieved. We grow in confidence; develop a love of learning and the habits of excellence, that will stay with us throughout our lives so that we contribute positively to society.

Our school is on the northern edge of Abergavenny, on the slopes of the Deri. The facilities are spacious and purpose built in 2005, and the site also houses the Acorns Childrens Centre and Deri Dragons After School club. Most of our children join us aged 3 in the Nursery and leave us at 11 to go to nearby King Henry VIII comprehensive. When Estyn inspectors visited in 2012 they recognised the school's great qualities; excellent behaviour and wellbeing, the leadership of the newly appointed Headteacher, and expertise in special needs, but challenged the school to improve academic standards and use of IT. This challenge has been met and pupils' achievement is now above the Welsh average and rising fast.

We're proud of our school and would be delighted to show families round. Give us a call on 01873 735010 or email deriviewprimary@monmouthshire.gov.uk

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
