Since September 2019, head is Malcolm Johnson (40s), Liverpool University (sports science and biology), PGCE (Chester) previously deputy head of Cheadle Hulme Junior School. Before that, taught at Stockport Grammar School. Although only six months in the role before Covid struck, he has driven across a number of subtle yet significant changes in this high-achieving small prep: greater emphasis on the pastoral with a new Wellbeing Action Group (staff and pupils), aligning yearly assessments to ensure a clearer overall picture of pupil progress and a greater integration of technology in the classroom (the latter was happening well before Covid expedited matters).
