HawleyHurst is a co-educational, independent school for ages 2 to 19. We aim to educate students to become responsible citizens, respect their surroundings and tread lightly on the Earth. Other features

All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Special Education Needs

The School has a Special Needs Department specialising in dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia. Hurst Lodge has a whole school approach to the teaching of children with special needs. We also have students with visual and hearing impairment and mild aspergers. We have a small number of statemented pupils. It is a wide ranging provision including two SENCo's and eight members of staff with SEN commitment. 09-09
