What the school says...
Hilden Oaks is a small co-educational preparatory school and nursery in Tonbridge with an impressive record. It has a long tradition of providing a high quality education coupled with excellent pastoral care.
Hilden Oaks prides itself on being a happy, family school where every child is helped and encouraged to develop their full potential in a caring, stimulating and purposeful environment. Our Values-based Education initiative has helped us create a framework that we believe reinforces and underpins what makes us a wonderful school. We maintain high academic standards while expecting good manners and consideration to others at all times.
There are specialist subject teachers for science, ICT, French, music and PE. Pupils have regular opportunities to perform in music concerts and drama productions. They participate in competitive sport against other schools, as well as in house matches. A wide variety of extra-curricular activities are also available.

Special Education Needs
At Hilden Oaks, the teachers get to know the pupils very well and quickly respond to individual needs for additional support and targeted interventions. All pupils at Hilden Oaks are assessed at least three times annually for reading, writing, spelling and maths. Using INSIGHT tracking also helps us to monitor the progress of the pupils and identify any who are not making expected progress and may need additional support and interventions from our Learning Support Team. Parents and teachers collaborate to identify targets and desired outcomes. In addition to the termly parent meetings and reports, we have regular, open communication with the parents of pupils with SEND or neurodivergent pupils.
