What the parents say...

We have 2 children at Holtspur and we're very glad we sent them there. From the moment I walked in on our open day, I had a strong impression of the school's atmosphere - warm, friendly and nurturing - and that hasn't changed in the 4 years we've been there. The headmistress is excellent: she has a tough, professional exterior, but the children adore her. Her ethos is that every child should leave Holtspur knowing what they are good at. The staff are kind and hard-working. The pupils are streamed very effectively in the core subjects so that those who need extra support receive it, while those who need to be stretched will be adequately challenged. My children are particularly benefitting from the strong musical and sports offerings. There's a lovely 'buddy' system where Reception children are paired with Year 5's to help them with various aspects of school life - this then continues in Year 1/Year 6. Generally the year groups are well integrated, which creates a real sense of community. This is helped by it being a one form entry school. Overall, it is a fantastic school where our children are thriving academically and socially.

Holtspur School is a small one-form entry school on the outskirts of Beaconsfield that provides a fabulous learning experience for every child. Often discounted because its SATS results are skewed by having to include children with statements who cannot access the tests, the school actually provides a wonderful an environment where every child can flourish regardless of their abilities. From the very first moment you contact the school you will experience the friendliness that is a real feature of every activity. Walk inside and you will be astonished by the huge range of art, sport and music activity that the staff and children seem to cram into every part of every day. There are masses of lunchtime and after school clubs from cooking and lego to football and racket sports for every age group, swimming lessons, tag rugby, netball, cross country and athletics. And if there is a competition of some description anywhere in the county you can bet the school will have a team, even if they have to use younger age groups to make up for a lack of numbers. The music provision is phenomenal. lots of guitar lessons, an award winning choir and lots of peripatetic lessons in violin, piano, brass, woodwind and the children's favourite - drums. It's a a school where any parent would be happy to send their child and I heartily recommend it.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
