What says..

In the garden space for early years they are gradually exchanging all their plastic equipment for more sustainable materials - we loved the play kitchen with copper, steel and wooden utensils and pots. The first indoor sandpit we have ever seen – very well used, not just for decoration. The relaxed approach can unnerve some parents who have tight schedules and expect super efficiency, but was seen by one parent as a school that tests and improves systems and they liked the idea that 'it is a growing school and our kids are growing with it'.

What the school says...

Outstanding Education at ISL Surrey

The International School of London (ISL) Surrey is an award-winning, coeducational day school for students aged 2 to 18. It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World school and in its recent IB diploma accreditation, received 40 commendations. It also received an unprecedented third accreditation for its International Primary Curriculum (IPC), achieving the highest level, Mastering, in all nine areas of the review. To date, ISL Surrey is the only school in the world to have achieved this milestone. In its OFSTED inspection report, ISL Surrey was commended for ‘the outstanding quality of its education’.

Bursaries for qualified local students are available for the IB Diploma programme from age 16-18. Universities worldwide respect the IB Diploma for its breadth and depth as well as the Extended Essay requirement which teaches students how to complete university level research. In addition to the rigorous academic programme, universities also value the skills developed by IB Diploma students which include critical, reflective and holistic thinking, collaborative working, individual initiative and personal organisation and planning.

ISL Surrey is the only school in the area, and one of the few in the world, to offer an extensive, integrated languages programme, with 17 languages currently taught from age 3, including French and Spanish for beginners.

The school is situated on a 10.3-acre campus, with excellent facilities.
Every day is an open day at ISL Surrey. To book a visit, telephone: 01483-750409 or contact admissions@islsurrey.org

What The Good Schools Guide says

Head

Since 2015, Richard Parker (50s); started working in a law firm in the City, which may have been the inevitable job choice for a Cambridge graduate in history, but he left law and went to the Institute of Education, London, trained as a secondary school teacher and taught at several state London schools before he and his wife moved to teach in international schools in Spain, Argentina, Hong Kong, Portugal and Brunei. He knows what it is to be an expat and this experience of different cultures and systems brings a wealth of understanding to the development of International School of London in the Surrey countryside. Married with two children (one of whom attended the school), he lives very locally and is clearly committed to making the school not only a friendly place for...
