What the school says...
Kingspark School was purpose-built in the late 1970s and is, therefore, situated in a reasonably modern, well-designed building with many excellent facilities including a library, soft play room, sensory awareness room, large assembly/games hall, gymnasium, swimming pool and therapy pool, and well-equipped rooms for practical and aesthetic subjects. Together with well-heated, light and airy classrooms, these provide a very bright and pleasant working environment for pupils and staff. The school has a very open aspect, and a large grass area surrounds the building, providing attractive gardens and play areas.
Kingspark has approximately 120 pupils, aged between five and eighteen years. All of the pupils have learning difficulties and many have additional physical disabilities or medical problems. Their educational needs can best be met, at present, in a special school like Kingspark. Almost all of the children have a 'Record of Needs' statement.
The main catchment area for the school is the City of Dundee, but pupils also attend from Angus and from Perth ...Read more
