Lakeside is situated to the north of the City centre in a pleasant suburb of Cardiff. The school has a 40% multi-cultural and multi-ethnic pupil roll and caters for a wide range of specific pupil needs. The school had a successful Estyn inspection in October 2002, being described as a 'good school with a number of notable features'. Provision for pupils with special education needs was highlighted and described as 'very good' and provision for pupils with English as an additional language as 'very good'.
