Since September 2017, Sam Robertson, previously deputy head at the Modern English School Cairo. Degree from Cambridge, and a PGCE, in natural sciences and education. Newly married to Claire, also a teacher.
Entrance
Entry into reception is non-selective but the children have three visits to the school prior to starting so staff get to know them. Entry after that depends on previous school records. Assessment for the older pupils. Reasoning paper and maths and English tests for key stage 1, Saturday exam for older ones. ‘There is no pass or fail as such, but it allows us to discuss the child’s prior learning with the parents.
