Headmistress

Since September 2021, Kathy Uttley BA PGCE, MEd (leadership and management). Educated at Bedales as a music scholar, thence to Bristol to study music alongside conducting and performing work. Various business roles including own restaurant ownership before training to become a teacher. Director of music positions in various schools, culminating at Bedales Prep before being promoted to academic deputy head. Moved to Kent to become head of an IAPS prep in 2016.

Entrance

Non-selective, though a baseline assessment in reception ‘to see where the gaps are’. Most join in nursery and continue all the way through. Families typically live within a 20-mile radius and are brought to school by parents.
