Special Education Needs

Lochgelly North School provides education for young people between the ages of 5 and 19 who have additional support needs. All have Records of Needs. Our aim is to create an ethos within the school environment where pupils, parents and staff work together in partnership so that all pupils reach their full potential. There are positive links with local colleges, Lochgelly High School and primary schools in the area. A broad and balanced curriculum is planned for each pupil using the Elaborated Curriculum, 5 - 14 documents and the National Qualification Framework as appropriate. The school is supported by a range of professionals working within education and from outside agencies. There is a School Board and a PTA. Both actively support the school community. There is an effective system of communication between home and school. Parents are invited into school throughout the session and are encouraged to contact the school to discuss issues relating to their children
