What The Good Schools Guide says..
If you want your child to live as independently as possible, to engage in economic activity and to become a confident communicator then the National Star College might just exceed all your aspirations. But be prepared for the bittersweet transformation you are likely to see. Parents revelling in the gains in independence and confidence their child makes have to face the harsh reality that this usually means that students are adamant about not returning to the family hearth at the end of the course.
Thank the school
Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.
This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.
Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.
What The Good Schools Guide says
Acting assistant principal
Since September 2016, Pauline Bayliss-Jones, previously director of learning programmes.
At first sight she seems a little reserved but calm and competent. However, she lights up when she talks about the students and the staff and is a great advocate for the holistic approach the college has put in place. She has a sparky sense of humour and an empathetic approach.
She has 20 years' experience working in teaching young adults. Formerly a lecturer in mainstream at Gloscat, a further education college with campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester, she moved to a rehabilitation programme working with people who had industrial injuries or serious illnesses. She joined National Star in 1997 as an IT tutor and has been a member of the senior management since 2003....
