Special Education Needs
Northfield Academy is a 6 year comprehensive school on the North side of the City of Aberdeen in Scotland. It has a large Support for Learning Department and houses a special needs base and a Pupil Support Centre. The Pupil Support centre deals mainly with SEBD difficulties. Aberdeen City is committed to a policy of inclusion and a presumption of mainstream education. The school's timetable and working practices reflect this. The school also has a School Based Police Officer, an Educational Social Worker, a school counsellor and a youth worker.
