Special Education Needs

The school prides itself on how it meets the needs of all children in its care and currently provides for a range of conditions such as Asperger's, autism and Tourette's syndrome. Each teacher provides a full programme of differentiated work for all the children in the class whatever their ability. Where pupils are identified as being in need of learning support they are allocated individual education plans which may be delivered by the class teacher, or in more needy cases by one of our dedicated learning support teachers. In addition to our in-house support, the school has access to the services of our local authority’s peripatetic learning service which provides for the needs of those children displaying moderate learning difficulties and more specific conditions such as dyslexia.
