What the school says...
I am very pleased to welcome you to Oriel Academy West London. Oriel Academy is a two-form entry primary school with a Nursery, it is situated in Hanworth West London. We admit children from approximately 3.5 to 11 years of age. Our classes are organised according to age and there are normally two mixed-ability classes per year from Reception to Year Six.
At Oriel Academy we have created a welcoming friendly school and a vibrant learning community with a caring inclusive ethos in which all of our children can flourish, supported by talented and dedicated staff. We enable all the children in our care to attain knowledge and skills in all areas of the curriculum. We are an inclusive school where the well being of every child matters to us. The school has a good reputation for being very effective at dealing with inclusion issues and supporting families.
In June last year Oriel was inspected by OFSTED and judged to be a good school, our results in all key stages were above the national average and have been improving over the last four years. It is on this foundation that we started the new school year as part of the Aspirations Academies Trust.
We have a relentless drive to provide a good educational foundation for all of our pupils. We have very high expectations of all our pupils to work hard and look smart. In 2013 in all over our end of Key Stage results were above the National Average and many were in the top 10% Nationally.
We believe in working in partnership with our whole community and so we will continue to work with other local schools, organisations and parents and I very much look forward to working with you as we develop as a member of the Aspirations Academies Trust over the next year and to building our partnership with you and your child. If there are more applicants to a school than it has places for, who gets in is determined by which applicants best fulfil the admissions criteria.
