Every class has 15 minutes a day of DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) where children listen to stories or read for themselves, everything from novels to tractor and Minecraft magazines. Executive Principal
Since 2006, Matt Wilson. An old hand having been employed by the school since 1998. He started as a class teacher, was head of lower school, and then became executive headteacher. The school has been graded as outstanding three times and he recently worked for Ofsted for a year.
Wilson describes himself as, ‘a facilitator to help staff fulfil their huge ambitions for children' and says he would rather not place too much emphasis on titles in the school. He is currently devolving more responsibility to the three head teachers: Deb Jackson, a New Zealander who is head of upper school, Georgie Fletcher, head of middle school and responsible for quality assurance, and Nicky Woolley, head of lower school, who started as a teaching assistant and was sponsored by...
