This popular prep and pre-prep on the edge of Dulwich was in transition which, as anyone who has had the builders in knows, can be painful and disruptive but well worth the effort. How high pressure is it? Headmaster

Since September 2017, Philip Soutar BEd, previously headmaster of St Wystan's School in Derbyshire, and before that deputy head at Ackworth Junior School. Degree from Exeter; main subject areas are science, PE (he's a golfer) and drama (interests include musical theatre and amateur dramatics), and has taught in junior and senior schools. Married to Lisa, a primary music specialist who will join Dulwich Prep London; they have two children.

Head of the pre-prep since 2005, Mary-Elizabeth Everitt BEd Goldsmiths College (40s). She started in the state sector, before teaching for 14 years at Dulwich Prep London. Friendly and quietly spoken, she is focused and clearly made of steely stuff.
