What the school says...

Owned by GEMS, www.gemseducation.co.uk
An IAPS accredited school with a very good academic record and excellent opportunities for music, sport, art and drama. Inspected by ISI in April 2005 and had a very good report. In 2007, despite being non-selective, the school has had 100% success rate in getting children to their first choice schools including academically selective schools like St Swithun's in Winchester, King Edward VI in Southampton, The Godolphin School in Salisbury, Portsmouth Grammar and Portsmouth High. Children have also gained places at grammar schools in Salisbury and Bournemouth and have secured 8 scholarships, including academic scholarships to King Edward's and St Swithun's. School regularly wins music, drama and art scholarships to independent schools.

The school has a strong local reputation and is well regarded by the senior schools it feeds. Fees are very competitive.

What the parents say...

This is a reasonable prep school. Teaching is quite good. Facilities are a little limited as the site is very small. Sports facilities in particular are in short supply. Leadership is currently going through a period of change as GEMs has recently sold the school. Class sizes grow significantly as pupils get older. Information technology is not a school strength. However, the school is diverse which is a nice quality.
