What the school says...

At Sompting Abbotts we set out to fulfil the ideal of happy children, developing naturally through careful teaching in an environment specifically tailored to their needs. We aim to protect childhood in a society that encourages its early decline: a world of invention, enthusiasm and excitement as well as a place of learning where sound values are taught. This is achieved by the family nature of the school small, caring, flexible in tune with the needs of individual children and families.

We endeavour to foster a warm friendly atmosphere, encouraging respect for others and developing self-discipline. Talents are nurtured, support and guidance promoted, progress and strengths encouraged and broadened.

We warmly invite you to come and see for yourself.

What the parents say...

A warm and well-organised family-run prep school that really brings out the best in your child. Traditional but forward-looking. I’ve two children here, with different strengths and interests. I’m delighted with how they’re both progressing academically and socially. They love going to school and come home with lots of enthusiasm about their fun and energising lessons. The children seem happy and confident right across year groups. The academic side is strong. But for me the big plus is the emphasis on 'soft skills’ such as communication, courtesy and respect, that make the difference in the 'real world'. The grounds and setting are beautiful – lots of nature and woodland so children experience the seasons – and the school makes the most of them for educational purposes, sports, adventure and free play. Children get to be real children here.

Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.
