What the school says...
St Andrew’s School is a popular co-educational independent school for pupils from ages 2 to 11. We are situated on a quaint suburban road in Rochester, Kent.
We take pride in our traditions, whilst embracing innovation and change that best prepares our pupils for the challenges they will meet in the future. Academic excellence, a tailored curriculum, outstanding pastoral care and extracurricular activities of an extraordinary range and quality are what make St Andrew’s the sought after school it is.
Our families select St Andrew’s School as they want their children to be part of a community, where teachers know them well enough to spot when they are feeling down, to celebrate when they succeed and to be there through the roller coaster of growing up.
We have a longstanding reputation for excellent academic results due to the individual attention given to every pupil, setting the bar higher than would be expected nationally, and instilling a strong work ethic that brings richly deserved results. Our SATs results at the end of Key Stage 2 continue to exceed the national average, and most of our year 6 pupils move on to Medway and Kent Grammar Schools each year or receive offers from independent schools, including scholarships.
At St Andrew’s we focus not only on how we can help our pupils develop and grow but how we can ensure they have fun and enjoy their time with us. From air-conditioned classrooms, a multi-sports court, outdoor climbing frames, shelves of digital robots and gadgets, a one-to-one device for all pupils from year 1 and school days packed with workshops, trips, and events. From skiing in Andorra, to residential trips in the UK, from CPR training to virtual reality adventures. Our parents know their children experience more from their time with us than they would elsewhere.
Pupils traditionally join St Andrew’s in our pre-school, which offers a home away from home for pupils to grow and develop into confident individuals, ready for ‘big’ school. Joining the main school in reception, pupils enjoy working closely each day with their teacher and teaching assistant and exploring a wealth of resources. The emphasis on more formal learning increases as the pupils move through the infant school, but we retain the sense of fun and wonder from the early years. The working environment in the junior school maintains our small class sizes and dedicated specialist teachers, with a curriculum tailored to challenge and extend their learning beyond the classroom.
The aim of St Andrew’s is to provide high-quality, all-round education for a fee that is competitive and to ensure our pupil’s primary days are truly memorable. This is what makes us one of the most sought-after schools in Kent.
St Andrew’s is part of the Education Development Trust, a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is transforming lives by improving education around the world. ...Read more

Special Education Needs
No school can support the needs of every child presented to it but with full knowledge of the needs, and by making what we consider to be reasonable adjustments, St. Andrew’s welcomes children with SEND whose needs we feel we can meet. Parents must be open and frank in enabling us to have the fullest picture of their child’s needs before admission and share all relevant professional reports.
