What the school says...
Located in 54 acres of beautiful parkland on the outskirts of Newbury, St Gabriels offers a broad and well-balanced curriculum, providing an education that is both traditional and forward-thinking.
From September 2014, Sandleford, the Nursery and Reception provision at St Gabriels, will welcome children from 6 months to 5 years across 50 weeks of the year with an extended day (7.30am 6.30pm). At the same time, the Junior School will become fully co-educational until the end of Year 6. The Senior School will continue to educate girls through to A level.
In 2013, 52% of A level grades were at A*/A, with such results it is hardly surprising that 82% of St Gabriel's Year 13 students went on to study at the UKs top 30 universities as defined by the Sutton Trust. At GCSE, 85% of results were at A*/B.
As well as offering a thorough academic education, the school provides a wide range of opportunities outside of the classroom. The performing and creative arts, sport and a wide range of clubs and societies ensure that the girls progress to the next stage of their education with confidence.
Entry to the Junior School is by assessment. All girls entering the Senior School take our Senior School entrance examinations (Maths, English, Science and Verbal Reasoning) in the November prior to entry. ...Read more
