What The Good Schools Guide says..
Boarders come from all over UK; southern pupils catch a Hogwarts Express at the beginning of term: it is (just) possible to enjoy breakfast in London and lunch in school. Day pupils from Yorkshire; parents a genuine mix of local aristocracy, a few military, professional and non-professional. Open days and school events bring a range of shabby chic Citroens, Land Rovers and Rolls Royces bearing Fortnum and Masons hampers. A good sprinkling from...
What the school says...
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Ampleforth valley, children at St Martin's Ampleforth receive the best education you could wish for, allowed to be children but learning to be adults. Thank the school
Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.
This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.
Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.
All-through school (for example 3-18 years). - An all-through school covers junior and senior education. It may start at 3 or 4, or later, and continue through to 16 or 18. Some all-through schools set exams at 11 or 13 that pupils must pass to move on.

Special Education Needs
St. Martin's Ampleforth seeks to be inclusive as far as it is possible. The school is located in a Grade One listed Castle so physical disabilities would be difficult to accommodate comfortably. We cater for a range of educational and behavioural needs at the milder end of the spectrum. If we feel that a child can take as full a part as possible in our curriculum, and benefit from it, then we will consider them for a place. Nov 09.
