With 25 years of teaching experience, her career falls into two parts – working in a selective state grammar as a teacher of Latin, French, Spanish and English, followed by senior leadership in the independent sector. Deputy head at Newton Prep for six years, then three years as head at St Nicholas Prep, Hyde Park, prior to taking up a Kent headship (fulfilling a long-held plan to return to where her husband grew up and her children went to school).
