What the school says...
At St Nicholas', we take pride in delivering a curriculum which innovates and engages. Founded in 1937, the school has always been home to a small but incredibly strong community, and this allows us to teach an accelerated curriculum which supports individualised learning and provides fantastic success in grammar and independent secondary school applications.
We have developed a curriculum which seeks to teach skills rather than asking children to simply regurgitate facts, and in doing so, give them a fuller education for the modern world. Alongside this, we use emerging technologies such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, and devices such as 1 to 1 iPads and smart speakers to supplement learning.
In order to deliver on these high standards, we take great care to support each child’s personal development – meditation is timetabled twice a week, giving children emotional strength and resilience, and small class sizes mean that teachers can build incredibly strong relationships with the pupils.
We are incredibly proud of the contribution every member of our community makes to St Nicholas’. Our motto – ‘non scholae, sed vitae discimus’, means ‘We learn not for school, but for life’, and we invite you to take time to visit us to see how this new approach to education works in greater detail. ...Read more
