What the school says...
Founded in 1935, Staines Preparatory School has been ‘educating today’s children for the challenges of tomorrow’ for almost 90 years. We are a happy, welcoming and non-selective school that prides itself on creating a genuine family atmosphere alongside a first-rate education.
Our independent status allows us to provide a bespoke learning opportunity alongside the national curriculum, giving our pupils the tools to achieve well above the national average. We are committed to delivering the highest quality educational experience, which is both challenging and fun.
Pupils at Staines Prep learn the value of commitment to successful learning, develop discipline and a sense of responsibility. Our supportive and nurturing environment enables pupils to fulfil their potential and become more confident, independent lifelong learners across all areas of the curriculum and well-adjusted, global citizens.
We are proud of our facilities at Staines Prep which contribute towards the outstanding learning within the school. The comment we most often receive is how amazed parents are at the range and quality of facilities we have beyond our modest exterior. Our Founders Building consists of a full-size multipurpose sports hall including a tiered seating auditorium. The building also features a dedicated science laboratory, ADT suite and music room. We also have a home economics classroom to bring subjects such as science and mathematics to life.
Our outdoor areas are green and spacious and include facilities dedicated to a variety of sporting opportunities. We have two all-weather pitches, two football pitches, cricket nets and playgrounds. Finally, we have a wooded area and large yurt outdoor classroom in which forest school trained teachers hold lessons.
Come and experience the school first hand by arranging a personal tour or visiting us at one of our popular open mornings throughout the year.
Staines Preparatory School is a registered charity, which exists to provide an affordable high-quality private education to the widest cross section of the community. ...Read more

Special Education Needs
We will support your child every step of the way to achieve their potential and to feel confident within the school community, and this includes pupils with special educational needs. We start with differentiated and personalised teaching across the curriculum to ensure all children maximise their learning. However, if it is felt that more tailored intervention is required then our SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is able to carry out observations and assessments to ascertain any interventions which might be suitable. An Individual Support Plan (ISP) will be created outlining this, alongside targets for the term. Support for your child may be given within the classroom, or they may participate in individual or small group support. In some cases, seeking advice from an outside specialist such as an Educational Psychologist may be suggested. We work in close partnership with parents in order to provide the best possible support for our pupils, enabling them to build on their strengths and achieve their personal potential, whatever their needs and abilities.
