Since 2011, Sarah Holyoake. Thoughtful, smiley and softly spoken. After West Hatch High School, Chigwell, read English at Cambridge and followed up with a PGCE. Taught reception in state schools in Cambridge, then head of early years in an independent school in Dorset. Returned to Cambridge and took up the role with Stephen Perse Foundation a year after it acquired Madingley Pre-Prep, in a rural location on the western fringes of the city. A year later City Pre-Prep was founded on the same site as Stephen Perse Junior School; now the two, along with the pre-prep classes at the Foundation’s Dame Bradbury’s School in Saffron Walden, are run in parallel under her aegis.
