What the school says...
Stoneygate is Leicestershire’s first independent pre-prep plus school for boys and girls aged four to 13 years. The school is located in 45 acres of woodland and fields in Great Glen to the south of Leicester. In May 2016 Stoneygate School became part of Leicester Grammar school Trust. The school has ‘a dual focus on achieving high academic standards through properly structured and resourced lesson time, whilst providing extra-curricular opportunities in the performing arts, sports and other leisure activities’. While the school will offer the GCSE curriculum from September 2017, the school continues to prepare pupils to sit the Common Entrance Examination to a range of public schools in Year 8. There are currently 200 pupils on roll. There is a very small number of pupils in receipt of a statement for special educational needs.
