What the school says...
Established in 1920 and set within 55 acres of stunning Buckinghamshire countryside, Swanbourne House School is a Preparatory School with a difference and one you should come and experience before making such a crucial decision for your young child’s education.
We aim to be a dynamic, diverse and forward thinking school offering an exemplary service in teaching and learning. Our pupils grow to understand the discipline of study as we ignite the fire for a lifelong love of learning, personal development and reflection. We aspire to develop well-rounded pupils, who rise to mental and physical challenge with optimism, open and enquiring minds, confidence and empathy. We teach children how to think and communicate responsibly and effectively and we give them the freedom and opportunity required to develop their capacity for independent, principled thought.
It is noteworthy that a significant and not co-incidental number of Old Swanbournians have gone on to be School Captains, Prefects and Sports Captains at their senior schools. They are well-grounded, well-mannered, emotionally intelligent and go on to become highly attractive candidates for the top universities and for future employers.
In a nutshell, we believe our School is exceptional. It is a School that continues to work very hard to earn and deserve its success and enviable reputation. We are there every step of the way on your child’s journey through Prep School and we do our best to ensure that each and every child strives to do their best, in every regard, with confidence and determination in a happy, safe and supportive environment, with plenty of time for tree climbing and den building! ...Read more
