What The Good Schools Guide says
Head
Since 2014, Anne Haas, previously deputy head of the junior school at nearby Rendcomb College, which she joined in 2003 as a class teacher. Hails from South Africa, where she gained her teaching degree from University of the Witwatersrand, Gauteng, then taught in primary schools. At the end of the apartheid, she helped train previously disadvantaged teachers for an NGO funded by USAID – ‘a period that marked a significant transformation of the Soth African education system,’ as she proudly points out. Later became a lecturer in primary education methodology at the Johannesburg College of Education, working with young student teachers – a role she balanced with raising her two children. After returning to teach in Johannesburg, she relocated to the UK in 2000 and now lives in the Gloucestershire countryside.
