What says..

The truth is we’re all a bit geeky and the opportunity to work with exceptionally bright kids stretching the curriculum is just glorious,’ said the principal on behalf of the 12 members of teaching staff who take no persuading to go above and beyond – most recently hosting webinars on the chemistry of love and on how the Covid vaccine works. 'You’re told at the beginning that you’ll never be bored in lessons here and it’s true.’ ‘I came here for the sport’ aren’t words you’ll hear uttered here – even the principal uses the word ‘afterthought’. What the school says...

The National Mathematics and Science College ('NatMatSci') is a selective STEM sixth form college that prepares students for successful entry to - and success at - top Russell Group Universities (including Cambridge and Oxford) and other leading universities world wide.

80% of grades were awarded an A*-A with 52% awarded the top A* grade on average over the last 3 years.
Almost one in five students gained a place at Oxford or Cambridge, with students gaining places to read medicine in the UK and US.
Every NatMatSci student has gained an offer from a Russell Group University.

NatMatSci is a keen participant in national and international competitions and Olympiads. Here are just a few examples:
In 2020 the college ranked 20th in world in the prestigious EUCLID mathematics competition, with two students performing in the top 0.9%
In 2020, NatMatSci physicists entered the AATP Physics Bowl. Achieving second place overall across all of Europe, Canada, Mexico and the non-continental USA, with one student in the top 100 globally.
In each of 2018 (IChO), 2019 (IChO) and 2020 (IBO) NatMatSci has had a different student represent the UK (placing them in the top 4 in the UK), and return with a medal in an international science olympiad.
