Special Education Needs
The Nicolson Institute has had a special class for over twenty years. Currently it has a special class of 8 pupils who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. Each pupil has an individualised educational plan which takes into account their learning and social needs. The pupils in the special class have access to all subject areas in the school, taught by subject teachers and enjoy additional special programmes. These special programmes include social and lifeskills, therapies, residential stays and environmental studies. Our aim is to ensure full entitlement and access to pupils with SENs to high quality education so that they can reach their full potential.
