Since 2020, Katie Hinks, previously principal of the International School of the Turks and Caicos Islands which, in her six years there, doubled in size. A passionate educationalist, she was born to be a head, following in the footsteps of both her parents. After graduating from the University of Liverpool with a BA in primary education and English, she spent four years teaching at Ninfield School in East Sussex before her curiosity about the difficulties some children had with literacy pushed her to study a postgraduate certificate and diploma in SEN and dyslexia as well as a level 7 dyscalculia qualification. As a result, she is capable and determined to take an early ‘catch them before they fall’ approach to identifying and working with pupils who may have learning difficulties.
