What the school says...
The Pointer School is full of character, from the amazing Georgian buildings that house our school to our pupils and teachers. We are a Christian school at heart and this underpins everything that we do, including our strong links with St. John’s Church Blackheath.
Our pupils are characterised by their gracious spirit and self-confidence. Although we are not academically selective at the point of entry, our pupils leave us at the end of Year 6 to attend some of the top Independent and Grammar Schools in the country. Our small class sizes (never over 20) allow us to offer each child a bespoke education where the teacher can enable each child to fulfil their whole potential.
Of course, our school is much more than academics. We have a thriving music and drama programme, reflecting our origins as a performing arts school. We compete in a range of sports fixtures against local schools, utilising our large sports grounds at Hervey Road. We offer over 50 after schools clubs and have found great success in recent years in chess, rising to become the 3rd best school in the UK. ...Read more
