Holy Cross Prep School is a thriving Catholic independent day school which welcomes girls of all faiths and cultures. The School provides a broad and balanced education for girls, giving them the opportunity to acquire a love of learning and the self-discipline and confidence to become independent learners. The challenging curriculum is fully supported by excellent facilities and resources and Holy Cross Prep pupils benefit from specialist teaching in ICT, French, music, art, drama and PE. Set in eight acres of breath-taking grounds, in beautiful, leafy surroundings. Pupils benefit from acres of outdoor space to explore and enjoy, including a two state-of-the-art, all-weather sports pitches and fantastic pavilion (opened June 2019).

The school has recently opened a new purpose built pre-school within the remodelled and refurbished Lodge house for 3 and 4 year old girls. The pre-school boosts excellence and quality in all areas as well as a new landscaped outdoor facility with age appropriate climbing apparatus and play equipment.

The school sets high academic standards and are also very proud of their sporting, musical and artistic achievements. Our pupils nurture a true love of learning, supported by the caring, vibrant community that pursues excellence on every level. Year 6 leavers are confident, well-rounded young people fully prepared to face the challenges of any selective senior school. A consistently high number of scholarships are awarded every year to their girls by top senior schools.

The school is located on a site with a fascinating history and since the time of Edward the Confessor it has been tenanted and owned by many well-known people. Within the school grounds are the remains of Coombe Conduit, built in 1515 by Cardinal Wolsey to carry water to nearby Hampton Court Palace during the reign of Henry VIII. The Sisters of the Holy Cross bought the house and started the school in 1971.
