What the school says...
Barrow Hills School is committed to delivering an exceptional, all-round independent education with a strong family ethos, focusing on the whole child. All that the School does is inspired by the qualities in its pupil profile and the importance of developing strong core values. Barrow Hills encourages its children to be Curious; Scholarly; Compassionate; Generous; Brave; Responsible; Joyful and Truthful.
Set in 33 acres of Surrey Hills countryside in Witley near Godalming, Surrey, the coeducational preparatory school for children aged 2 to 13 prides itself on offering a nurturing, progressive environment for children to thrive.
School life centres on a broad curriculum. Alongside academics, music, art and drama also play a major role. An outstanding range of sports aims to encourage every level and ability.
Through its partner school, King Edward’s Witley, Barrow Hills children have access to facilities beyond the reach of most stand-alone preparatory schools, and parents can see their children benefit the seamless transition from prep school to senior school. Boys and girls leave Barrow Hills, usually at 13, to join the finest independent schools, including King Edward’s Witley.
In 2020, the School once again celebrated when Year 8 achieved a 100% pass rate in their Common Entrance exams and over fifty percent of the children gained scholarships to senior schools. The School includes a caring Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School providing children with the same special, caring and nurturing environment that is unique to Barrow Hills. This ensures a consistent, stable and secure learning environment as the child progresses through the School. ...Read more
