What the school says...
Excellent leadership, highly inclusive, very good education are all terms used by the recent OFSTED team of Inspectors to describe the school.
Part of the report has been highlighted for the OFSTED Beacon Website and strengths noted were: "Inclusion, Quality of learning and teaching and behaviour and confidence of the children.In particular it highlighted that the schools superb results stem from the excellent leadership of the head teacher, Mrs Sue Ashe who is supported by a very effective Senior Management Team and staff. Good links with the community were also mentioned in the report along with the very effective education and very good value for money. ...Read more

Special Education Needs
The school provides an inclusive education tailoring learning to the personalised needs of the children. Lessons have opportunities for challenge for the able as well as modification and support for those who need it. Additional adults working in school provide high quality support in class and outside it and there are specific Teaching assistants for 'catch-up' programmes and booster classes. The school's SEN department is managed by an SEN manager with SEN administrator. Senior staff offer expertise in a range of special need learning and experienced teaching assistants offer daily or weekly additional support. The school has recently been commended for its strong and effective pastoral policy which provides the ethos for all pupils to achieve their best in a supportive and 'can do' culture.

If there are more applicants to a school than it has places for, who gets in is determined by which applicants best fulfil the admissions criteria.
Admissions criteria are often complicated, and may change from year to year. The best source of information is usually the relevant local authority website, but once you have set your sights on a school it is a good idea to ask them how they see things panning out for the year that you are interested in.
Many schools admit children based on distance from the school or a fixed catchment area. For such schools, the cut-off distance will vary from year to year, especially if the school give priority to siblings, and the pattern will be of a central core with outliers (who will mostly be siblings). Schools that admit on the basis of academic or religious selection will have a much more scattered pattern.
