The flexi-study programme is geared to help ‘students who wish to combine independent study with support from qualified tutors’; many of these are home schooled and just need pointers to keep them up to speed: ‘read this chapter, forget that, this is really important’ sort of thing. Pupils come from all backgrounds for all reasons, including those who find that conventional school does not cater for their particular selection of subjects. No affiliations with sports clubs and the like, but director of studies can ‘point in the right direction’. Thank the school

Parents and pupils often have cause to acknowledge the help and support they have received from their schools, for example in helping in the choice of further education or careers. "Say thank you" allows you to send a quick note of appreciation to the school in general or to an individual teacher.

This is a thank you to your school, teacher or careers adviser who helped you to get where you are now.

Please fill in the fields below, which we will transform into a letter of thanks from you to them.

Leave blank if you want to thank the school as a whole

Years you were there

Can be left blank but, if you can, think of a few words that will bring a smile.

Director of studies

Since 1993, Lily Crawford MA (60s – you could knock 10 years off and still guess wrong); a Glasgow lass, who read English literature at Edinburgh and previously taught in the state system in Edinburgh and Falkirk. Slow speaking, deep thinking, she is point of contact for new students, passionate about keeping costs down and directing studies to be fit both for uni matriculation and future employment. Previously an examiner for AQA, SQA and the BAC, she has all the necessary know-how. Crawford leads students through the UCAS maze, helps with personal statements, engineers extra time (scribes if need be – but SQA must have proof positive of need). Very much hands on and, quite obviously, the glove fits.
