What The Good Schools Guide says


Since 2016, Mark O’Donnell BA MSc (Arch), previously head of St Martin’s Ampleforth, the prep school for Ampleforth College, and before that head of Alleyn’s Junior School in south London. Educated at St John’s Beaumont, Stonyhurst and Saint Ignatius’ College in New South Wales, then studied history and linguistics at Macquarie University. He originally planned a career in architectural conservation but discovered that he loved teaching. He has a masters in education from Harvard and a postgraduate diploma in education from Oxford. He‘s also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award assessor and an Alpine ski leader. He organises skiing activities and events for the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS).

Alongside his head’s duties, he teaches year 7 English and sport and describes himself...

We have no special Needs Unit. We do have a part-time Study Skills Co-ordinator who offers support to boys experiencing difficulties with handwriting, learning, organisation etc. 09-09
