The Good Schools Guide review of JK Educate
Lorrae Jaderberg and Katie Krais run a tight ship from their Hampstead Garden Suburb offices, with the help of a full-time client relations manager (first point of call for all parents) and two teams of part-time staff: first, a senior monitoring team for teaching and learning (experienced teachers) on hand for all tutors and families and second, an admin team to do the hand-holding from initial introduction to the company to talking the before and arranging tutoring and feedback. Both women have a strong history in school leadership and SENCO spanning across the state and private sectors, having originally met when they job shared a year 4 class teaching role back in 1999. Katie went onto become head of years 3, 4, 5 and 6 – as well as being a teacher governor - and Lorrae was appointed as a deputy head teacher.
Review snapshot: This is the Innocent Drinks (as in smoothies) of the tutor world – run by bright young things that have come in and shaken up all the industry norms, resulting in a friendly, energetic, highly branded, internet-savvy company with a clear edge.
Review snapshot: ‘It’s on the more expensive side, particularly for more experienced tutors, but it’s absolutely my favourite. They’re honest, on the ball and have the best quality tutors,’ concluded another parent. read more
Review snapshot: ‘We have families that stay with us throughout their children’s upbringing – then we look after their own children. This really does happen, with generations of the same family having worked with us.’ ‘Having a small register, we know our tutors personally. Some have been with us for many years which helps greatly in matching clients and tutors appropriately.’
Review snapshot: "Founded in 2006 by Kate Shand who is committed, passionate, energetic and hugely likeable. Clearly on a mission to deliver a top quality service to her clients – and her tutors – Kate is eloquent on the personal nature of the tutor-client-agency relationship and has a positively moral take on what she sees as her job." read more
