SEN statement

Provided by the school and not part of our review

Queensmill School is a special school for children between the ages of 3 and 11 years with a diagnosis of autism or ASD. We teach all aspects of the National Curriculum but we adapt both the environment and the curriculum to meet the needs of children with autism. We share a building with a mainstream primary school and have a strong commitment to integration. We provide a caring environment where we respect and value the children for what they are, help them to understand the world around them and teach them to manage their autistic behaviours. All staff are trained in autism, and are supported by full time speech and language therapists and weekly visits from an occupational therapists. We are accredited by the National Autistic Society.
