What the school says

Head of college since 2014, Mrs Joanne Rees-Proud. Joanne has worked at the college since it opened originally as a Personal Tutor. Joanne returned from maternity leave in April 2017 and is back in position as Head of College. Joanne has worked in further education and supporting young people with disabilities for over 15 years. Hedleys College is an active member of NATSPEC and works hard to break down stereotypes and work on national projects which bring recognition of our students achievements.

Students will have profound, severe or moderate learning difficulties which may include complex multiple needs such as physical disabilities, complex communication needs, social and emotional and mental health difficulties, and sensory impairments. The College is appropriate for a wide range of young people and provides education for those students with complex disabilities, social emotional and mental health difficulties, autism, visually impaired, deaf, sensory difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties, physical and medical needs.
