If a mobile phone is seen or heard it will be confiscated and retained for the remainder of the school day. If the same mobile phone is seen or heard again the following sanctions will apply:

What the school says

George Abbot School is a large, high performing, academically non-selective secondary school with a very successful sixth form. We have well maintained school buildings and plentiful green spaces. Our community is proud of our ethos of care, honesty, equality and respect. We have strong teachers and superb pastoral care. Academic standards are high and our school is harmonious and ambitious for every child. We are a member of the Learning Partners Academy Trust and prioritise collaboration.

We have a Unit for students who are visually impaired. The Learning Support offices/rooms provide an opportunity to withdraw students from lessons for additional help with Literacy/Numeracy and curriculum support at KS4. Those students with special needs are supported by materials in class and by Teaching Assistants in lessons.

We are committed to providing premises that are suitable and sufficient for educational purpose and provide access to a broad and balanced curriculum for all pupils, irrespective of special need or disability. The School’s Governing Body supports the principles and aims of the LEA’s Access Strategy for Schools and will work jointly with the LEA to implement agreed objectives to meet the County’s targets for improving access to schools where practical.
