A small, old, prestigious, all-female liberal arts college in rural Massachusetts (one of the so called "Seven Sisters", traditionally the women's Ivy League colleges where the smart girls went when Harvard etc were male only), Mount Holyoke remains firmly among the Massachusetts academic elite and one of the best of its kind in the country. Like other liberal arts colleges, the Holyoke experience is rigorous and rewarding. There is a strong focus on academics here, which is more than justified considering the incredible caliber of the professors, their accessibility, and the tiny size of classes.
