Q. How many students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A. Five. Four to go skiing and the fifth to remember, on the way up to Whistler, to call an engineering student to change the lightbulb.
What Uni in the USA says...
Big really is beautiful. The sprawling UBC campus covers over 400 hectares on the Western-most tip of Vancouver. Although a young university by British and East Coast US standards (established in 1908), there’s a lot on offer and it’s all surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
You can pretty much always see the ocean or the mountains anywhere in Vancouver and the campus is no exception. The two main libraries look out over each other: one, shaped like an open book, is predominantly made of glass to make you feel less like a hermit during finals and the other a learning centre where discussion in open spaces is encouraged.
If you are looking for a diverse student population and a world-class education in a laid back, beautiful setting, UBC is the place to be.
