About Katie
Originally trained as a journalist, Katie enjoyed 25 years in-house and agency handling PR campaigns. From negotiating the sponsorship of a shampoo brand’s partnership with pop sensations Girls Aloud to re-launching Captain Birds Eye to a fresh new audience, her campaigns secured column inches for some of the UK’s biggest brands.
A writer at heart, she keeps her hand in reviewing schools across Surrey where she loves nothing more than sitting down with esteemed head teachers to find out what really makes them tick.
State educated herself and with one child in the independent sector and one in state, Katie is inspired by the excellent work happening in schools across both sectors. 'Fantastic teachers truly change lives and it’s a privilege to meet so many of them in this job.'
She recently completed the TES child protection safeguarding course.
